Reed is partnered with a major global manufacturing client in Dungannon, in the appointment of a qualified/qualified-by-experience Cost Accountant on a permanent & full-time basis.

The role:

Reporting to the Finance Controller you will be responsible for all areas of Cost Accounting. Key activity includes:

  • Evaluate existing machine costings - materials, labour, and overhead setting of annual standard costs
  • Review of machine margins
  • Review and the management of the NPPD process for new machines costings
  • Prepare costing information to assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Management of inventories – obsolete inventory, cycle counts approvals, cycle stats and audits
  • Month end inventory org close and provision of information to assist in the financial monthly close cycle
  • Monthly financial spend and absorption trackers for management review
  • Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities in the business
  • Prepare analysis of direct labour efficiencies monthly and quarterly
  • Assist the Financial Controller to prepare all site scorecards and Managements packs
  • Provision of information to managers in an easily understood format
  • Maintain procedure documents and SOX testing to ensure BU maintains SOX score of 90%+.

Criteria:

  • Previous experience working within Cost Accountancy of a Manufacturing Environment
  • Strong systems knowledge and proficient in Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft word
  • Experience of working with Oracle would also be desirable though not essential
  • The ability to work to prioritise and thrive under pressure in a fast-moving business meeting tight deadline
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • You must also be able to demonstrate that you are a results focused individual with the energy and drive to make it happen.
  • A third level education, ideally in an Accounts capacity CIMA/ACCA/ACA, is desirable
