ISQ Recruitment is pleased to present an exciting opportunity for a Materials Planner to join a leading engineering company in Norfolk on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract. This role offers the chance to play a crucial part in a dynamic team, supporting the supply chain and production operations within a fast-paced environment, with the potential to become a full-time opportunity for the right candidate.

Main Purpose of Job:

The Materials Planner will act as the essential link between various departments, ensuring smooth planning, processing, and manufacturing to meet customer demand. This role involves managing production schedules, liaising with key teams, and ensuring material availability aligns with operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning: Develop and maintain production plans in collaboration with manufacturing teams to meet customer demand.
  • Order Management: Coordinate with commercial and financial teams to manage customer orders and enter demand into the ERP system.
  • Job Order Creation: Generate job orders for customer demand and sub-assembly production.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate production schedules effectively with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Material Coordination: Partner with the procurement team to ensure materials are available on time to meet production plans.
  • Progress Tracking: Liaise with the project management team to track progress against production schedules and adjust as necessary.

Key Skills and Relevant Experience:

  • Experience: Proven background in production planning within a complex engineering environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and organisational skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Problem Solving: A proactive self-starter who can efficiently address planning and material supply challenges.

Additional Requirements:

  • Driving Licence: A valid UK driving licence and access to a car are essential due to the remote location of our client.
