About us:
Our Heysham Project supports six individuals to live in their self-contained flats. The individuals have diverse needs which include, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, forensic backgrounds and some behaviors that challenge. All new starters will receive appropriate training and shadow shifts with well-established team members, only when staff are confident will they go "live" with individuals.
All our individuals enjoy accessing the community on a 1:1 basis individuals have a variety of interest in the community which include, trips to the local bingo hall, outings to various beauty spots such as the lakes, weekly shopping trips, bike rides, lunch out, cinema and looking around charity shops. Service users are also supported to go on holidays.
Each day is different undertaking the role of a support worker. A support worker supports individuals to achieve their personal goals no matter how big or small. It is assisting individuals to live a full and worthwhile life. It is about promoting choice, encouraging healthy lifestyles, cooking nice meals, supporting individual to be valued members of the community, supporting to maintain good heath, supporting to engage with family. A support worker is really an amazing opportunity to assist an individual to live the best life possible.
