Business Development Consultant Description:

As an experienced Business Development (BDC) professional, you will be aware that this role will be to secure contracts with our NHS partners. The role will involve prospecting and meeting decision makers across multiple clinical areas.

The clinical insourcing arena is very competitive, and the successful candidate will need to utilise all of their prospecting skills, across multiple sales channels, in order to find routes into the correct NHS personnel. The individual must also have a consultative sales approach and understand the service we are delivering is patient-centered, clinically governed treatment. We are an ethical service provider to the NHS and the BDC will represent the company with integrity.

To assist in achieving sales, the BDC will receive appropriate support and advice from the operational team, as well as from the Senior Leadership Team as the sale matures towards completion.

The Main Tasks Include:

  • Client prospecting along with nurturing and cultivating leads
  • Create and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements
  • Engage and support any bid and tender activities relating to all new business requirements within your region
  • Professionally present and understand the company's unique selling points and ensure these are communicated to potential clinical insourcing partners
  • Work in collaboration with the operations team to organise client workshops, user groups and webinars on a regional and national basis.
  • Represent the company at relevant trade shows and exhibitions

Our Ideal Candidate:

The candidate will have previous insourcing experience and will already have an established network of NHS Directors, Departmental Leads, and Senior Procurement personnel. Strong candidates are likely to have many of the following:

  • Previous Experience within NHS Insourcing (Essential)
  • Strong Connections with decision-makers within the NHS (Essential)
  • Connections within Integrated Care Boards (ICBs)
  • Experience of dealing with service contracts within the NHS (Essential)
  • Experience of NHS procurement processes and frameworks (Essential)
  • Capable knowledge of using Salesforce (or another relevant CRM system)
  • Previous proven sales success within a healthcare setting
  • Minimum 3+ Years' experience of working in clinical insourcing
  • A self-starter with very good work ethics
  • Strategic and consultative sales approach
  • Understanding of clinical outsourcing as well as insourcing
