To support the Co-ordinator in stock management, product position and processing management. Also to work as a deputy to the Co-ordinator and provide full cover for holiday/sickness.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Supply Chain Coordinator:

  • Creating regular product position sheets so that demand is matched with supply and advising of product shortages, with the aim of optimising stock levels and providing a delivery forecast.
  • Assisting in the management of stock processing, including any related movements/transfers and checking of outturns and Job Builds, with any problems to be escalated.
  • Liaising and communicating with suppliers such as warehouses, processors and hauliers to effect good working relations.
  • Contributing to month-end procedure by collecting, preparing and reconciling warehouse stock reports and reconciling when required, and also assessing the monthly delivery forecast against actual deliveries out.
  • Provision of competitive haulage rates for internal use.
  • Logging, checking and authorising invoices for processing and haulage.
  • Additional ad hoc duties to support the office.

Personal requirements of the Assistant Supply Chain Coordinator

  • Experience of shipping logistics is desirable but not essential training will be given.
  • The right person will, in a short time be able to show the initiative and intelligence to make a positive difference to the efficient running of the department
  • Ensuring customer and supplier enquiries are handled promptly & accurately.
  • Possessing good IT & numerical skills and a financial background
  • Good communication and organisation skills are essential
  • Proficient on all Microsoft packages - advanced Excel
  • Accurate with attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Flexible, time management
