Location: Hexham, Northumberland

Salary Scale: £120 to £170 per day

About the Role:

GSL Education is seeking a dynamic and proactive ASD Teacher to work within Secondary schools in Hexham, Northumberland.

Job Summary

  • Create and execute tailored education plans for students with ASD, ensuring that their unique needs are met.
  • Work with other teachers, parents, and specialists to develop comprehensive IEPs that include academic goals, behavioural objectives, and necessary accommodations.
  • Adapt the standard curriculum to make it accessible and engaging for students with ASD.

Role of an ASD Teacher:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with ASD.
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of each student.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reports.
  • Implement strategies to manage and support student behaviour effectively.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.

The successful candidate will:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with secondary school students with ASD.
  • Strong understanding of ASD and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
