ASD Teacher Secondary
Location: Hexham, Northumberland
Salary Scale: £120 to £170 per day
Status: ASAP/ September 2024
About the Role:
GSL Education is seeking a dynamic and proactive ASD Teacher to work within Secondary schools in Hexham, Northumberland.
Job Summary
- Create and execute tailored education plans for students with ASD, ensuring that their unique needs are met.
- Work with other teachers, parents, and specialists to develop comprehensive IEPs that include academic goals, behavioural objectives, and necessary accommodations.
- Adapt the standard curriculum to make it accessible and engaging for students with ASD.
Role of an ASD Teacher:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with ASD.
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of each student.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reports.
- Implement strategies to manage and support student behaviour effectively.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
The successful candidate will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with secondary school students with ASD.
- Strong understanding of ASD and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
