**Role Overview:
As a Senior Accounts Payable Assistant at Marshalls Aerospace and Defence, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our finance department. You will be responsible for maintaining the purchase ledger, ensuring that invoices and expenses are processed accurately and in a timely manner. This position involves close collaboration with the accounts payable team and contributes significantly to the financial operations of our fleet management division.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase Ledger Management: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the purchase ledger, including the maintenance of vendor details and reconciliation of supplier accounts.
- Invoice Processing: Efficiently process and code daily invoices for the general ledger, managing outstanding purchase orders and maintaining the invoice register.
- Payment Administration: Assist in the preparation and execution of BACS payments to suppliers and employees, ensuring that payments are made on time and account queries are promptly resolved.
- Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, addressing and resolving any invoice queries in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Financial Reporting: Manage various accounting schedules and contribute to regular financial reporting requirements.
- Support Functions: Provide support to the wider finance team, including ad hoc duties as needed.
**Qualifications & Competencies:

Educational Background:

5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above.

Experience & Technical Skills:

Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.

Familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
