Salary Range: £27,000 – £33,000 per annum
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2/3 days onsite)

**Role Overview:

As a Senior Accounts Payable Assistant at Marshalls Aerospace and Defence, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our finance department. You will be responsible for maintaining the purchase ledger, ensuring that invoices and expenses are processed accurately and in a timely manner. This position involves close collaboration with the accounts payable team and contributes significantly to the financial operations of our fleet management division.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase Ledger Management: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the purchase ledger, including the maintenance of vendor details and reconciliation of supplier accounts.
  • Invoice Processing: Efficiently process and code daily invoices for the general ledger, managing outstanding purchase orders and maintaining the invoice register.
  • Payment Administration: Assist in the preparation and execution of BACS payments to suppliers and employees, ensuring that payments are made on time and account queries are promptly resolved.
  • Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, addressing and resolving any invoice queries in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Financial Reporting: Manage various accounting schedules and contribute to regular financial reporting requirements.
  • Support Functions: Provide support to the wider finance team, including ad hoc duties as needed.

**Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Educational Background:

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above.

  • Experience & Technical Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.

  • Key Competencies:

  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage and reconcile complex accounts.

  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both external clients and internal colleagues.

  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic, open work environment.
