Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer
Location: Pontypool
Salary: £40,000 per annum

Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday, days regular 7-4 Monday to Thursday and 7-1 Friday

Here at The Recruitment Co we are recruiting a Multi-Skilled Engineer to work for a company based in Pontypool. This is a full time and permanent position.

The working hours are Monday to Thursday 7:00am to 4pm and Friday 7:00am -1pm however at times your working hours may vary to accommodate the operational demands. You will receive a competitive salary (experience dependant), workplace pension, 32 days annual leave (inc. Bank

Main job roles

  • Provide safe, high standard, and efficient maintenance support to the production function.
  • Recording and reporting daily unplanned breakdown events and highlight machinery capability concerns to line manager.
  • Reduce the cost of internal remakes and improve production efficiency through delivery of an optimum proactive machinery maintenance (PPM) program to reduce unplanned breakdown events.
  • Day to day procurement and management of machinery and facilities spares inventory.
  • Assist with movement, installation and repositioning of machinery assets as required.
  • Support work objectives assigned by line manager i.e., efficiency and workflow improvement projects and priority capital expenditure initiatives.
  • Provide high standard, safe, reliable, and efficient facilities maintenance support to the business as necessary.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and contractors to support production and facilities maintenance as necessary.

Record and report proactive health and safety concerns, managing concerns immediately
where possible to reduce near miss and potential accidents.

  • Provide support to production and quality functions with defect investigation using proven root cause analysis techniques.
  • Provide a flexible working approach supporting annual leave and company requirements.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Multi-skilled engineering technician with experience of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic engineering; inclusive of relevant qualifications - minimum BTEC L3 and NVQ L3 in maintenance engineering or similar
  • Hands on capability to resolve day to day maintenance issues in an effective and timely manner.
  • Engineering Analytical skills and Fault finding.
  • Proactive Team working and communication
  • Ability to learn and demonstrate the execution of new skills when given appropriate training.
  • An appreciation of project management
  • knowledge of Engineering manuals, drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Appreciation of planned preventative maintenance schedules
  • Ability to safely work at heights from MEWPS and fixed platforms.
  • Confident use of common power tools, professional and hand tools
