Financial Accountant Glasgow/Lanarkshire Salary up to £55k (DOE)
Lusona Consultancy are working with our client within the services sector to source suitable candidates for the post of Financial Accountant. This role can be based in Glasgow City Centre or Lanarkshire and will be fully office based. The successful candidate will be responsible for the consolidated statutory accounts as well as collaborating with wider stakeholders in this value-add role. You will collaborate with the wider finance team and have the support of the Finance Manager and management Accountant.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Preparing the annual statutory accounts using CCH software
- Consolidating accounts and providing related intercompany disclosures and analysis
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts where necessary.
- Ensuring tax compliance across the group by reviewing and submitting VAT and P11d returns
- Corporate tax management, reporting and planning.
- Collaborating with non-financial stakeholders to understand the reasons behind the numbers
- Ensuring reconciliation of intercompany balances
- Completing cashflow planning and analysis.
- Assisting with the month end close process, as well as coding of revenue, cost and asset posting
- Managing the year end process, as well as reconciling the balance sheet
- Providing relevant information and liaising with the external auditors
- Supporting senior management to drive improvement of financial controls
To be considered for this role, you will be an ambitious qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ICAS) accountant. Applicants will ideally have experience gained from within accountancy practice and wider industry & commerce, with strong statutory accounting experience. As such, you will be comfortable with the use of CCH accounts software. Likewise, knowledge regarding corporation tax, VAT returns and CIS. Excellent communication skills are essential to collaborate with senior stakeholders frequently and work towards often tight deadlines.
