Hays Education is working with Stroud based Secondary School to recruit a Head of Department in Computer Science. The school is an 11-16 comprehensive school, located in an area of natural beauty, the school is very popular and has been graded 'Good' by Oftsed. This is a rare opportunity for a Computing specialist to join our middle leader team.
Your new role
- The leadership and management of aspects of the teaching of Computing within the overall educational aims of the school.
- Maintaining the highest possible quality in teaching and learning in the faculty
- To manage all departmental resources to maximise learning and achievement.
- To contribute to the wider leadership and management within the school.
- To plan and evaluate lesson content, delivery strategies, differentiation and use of resources
What you'll need to succeed
- A PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
- A relevant degree in computer science or a related field
- Experience of teaching computer science up to A level
- A strong knowledge of programming languages, such as Python, Java etc.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
- An Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one
