Job Title: Active Curriculum Instructor

Job Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm

We are currently recruiting for an Active Curriculum Instructor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, management, and delivery of an alternative programme within the Active Curriculum for secondary-aged pupils.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and quality assure the Active Curriculum for pupils
  • Collaborate with Academic and Therapeutic specialist teams to provide comprehensive support for young people with diverse needs.
  • Implement the Active Curriculum Core Principals, focusing on resilience, communication, self-belief, self-management, problem-solving, and teamwork.
  • Support students to improve emotional resilience and positively impact mental and physical health through daily activities.
  • Foster greater understanding of teamwork and personal responsibility.
  • Introduce students to new skills and activities, enhancing self-discipline, self-esteem, and empathy.
  • Facilitate outdoor activities such as bushcraft, camp skills, orienteering, climbing, skiing, and canoeing.
  • Enable students to gain activity-specific qualifications.
  • Collaborate across teams to integrate theoretical knowledge into practical experiences, adding value to the academic curriculum.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • D1 driving license or the ability to obtain through provided training.
  • Commitment to high educational, professional, and personal standards.
  • Possess a calm manner and resilient nature.

Preferable:

  • Previous experience leading a team and/or line managing colleagues.
  • MIDAS trained minibus driver.
  • Previous experience working with children presenting significant Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs.
  • Evidence of further relevant training.
