Opportunity Overview: A fantastic opportunity has arisen to temporarily join my client as a Financial Analyst.

My client is a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services. The Firm's employees serve clients worldwide including corporations, governments, and individuals from more than 1,200 offices in 43 countries.

Role Objective: The GCC Project team is responsible for managing a considerable percentage of Finance's technology spend, helping to deliver across a portfolio of projects including, Regulatory Capital, Leverage and Reporting, Financial Accounting and Finance Data souring and control renovation. A current focus of the GCC Projects team is to support the implementation and provision of IFRS data to enable our clients to meet the requirements of regulatory reporting across UK and European jurisdictions.

Key Requirements:

  • The role is London based and reports directly into the Vice President responsible for the IFRS workstream.
  • The role involves engagement with a wide range of stakeholders across Finance and IT and across regions.
  • The role will involve ownership for discrete components of the overall project including:
  • Writing functional requirements / User Stories and acceptance criteria
  • Liaising with IT to communicate functional requirements.
  • Supporting Users and dedicated testing resource in test execution
  • Providing updates to Stakeholders.
  • Working with the IFRS daily balance sheet process owners and report owners, key focus areas will include:
  • Defining and implementing an operating model to support daily reporting.
  • Designing and implementing the key daily controls over IFRS balance sheet data
  • Verifying the completeness and accuracy of IFRS data available for daily reporting and closing any material data gaps identified.
  • Designing and implementing a daily intercompany elimination methodology to support IFRS sub-group reporting.
  • Designing and implementing a suite of reports to support IFRS internal and external reporting requirements and analytics

Responsibilities:
Essential:

  • Qualified accountant / degree qualification
  • Experience of working on large change projects; strong planning and organisational skills; proven ability to manage to tight deadlines while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to generate business requirements and work with technology partners and end-users to test and implement developments.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to understand processes and key controls.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and ability to influence decision making with colleagues/clients of all levels.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy across all aspects of work deliveries.

Beneficial:

  • Familiarity with Agile Project management methodology.
  • Awareness of, or involvement in, IFRS and / or Financial Regulatory reporting.
