Zenith People are working with our client who are a Manufacturer looking to recruit an Engineering Supervisor on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will take support the site maintenance departments in optimising their efficiency by ensuring critical equipment and people's performance, reliability, and safety.
Engineering Supervisor
Berwickshire
Day Shift 7:30am - 16:00pm
Early Finish on Friday
Salary £45,000 - £60,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervision of all mechanical team - shift techs, Day shift Tech, Apprentices and contractors
- Ensure that all work is carried out in line with contract requirements and guidelines, including compliance with relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice.
- Lead the maintenance teams in the execution of preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance and periodic inspections on all machines and equipment.
- Ensure all team members have the necessary training, resources and support to complete their tasks effectively.
- Monitor the team's performance and identify any issues or areas for improvement, including working with MX and closing out Work Orders.
- Ensure that all relevant documentation and paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Follow up on inspection/PM procedures completion to replan outstanding work orders.
- The team's management, development, and motivation of direct reports, including assessing and monitoring job performance and, where necessary, facilitating the company's disciplinary and grievance procedures / Holiday Tracker and overtime/lateness/sickness in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.
- Attend weekly site progress meetings and establish and maintain effective communication with client site representatives to ensure job progress and technical updates are provided throughout each assigned work order/project.
- Monitor contractor's performance and drive improvement
- Manage day-to-day duties on-site
The person we're looking for:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the paper industry or similar process industry
- Minimum academic qualification: HNC or HND in engineering
- Excellent communication & IT skills to enable effective liaison with clients, vendors and other staff members, including detailed daily/project report writing.
- Ability to undertake comprehensive pre/post job briefs/toolbox talks.
