Imports Coordinator - Birchwood, Warrington (Hybrid) - Up to £21/hr - Inside IR35
Jonathan Lee Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and collaborative Imports Coordinator to join our client's inclusive and friendly team. This full-time Imports role is based in Birchwood Park and offers a contract rate of £21 per hour.
The Imports & Duty Team is a department dealing with the import and customs procedures for goods imported into the UK. Duty and Import VAT is managed via the integrated duty management system. The role is essential in ensuring that the importation of goods takes place promptly, efficiently and compliantly. This process requires timely action to respond to requests from import agents, HMRC and internal customers.
To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:
- Assist in the administration of planning, development, and operation of the systems and processes for the payment and avoidance of duties and taxes.
- Liaise with HM customs to ensure European Community regulatory compliance and rules applicable to duty/tax avoidance.
- Prepare, complete and submit monthly returns of duties/taxes paid (and avoided) to HM customs.
- Operate a duty management system in accordance with HMRC requirements.
To apply for this duty management role, you will need an understanding of UK import formalities. You will also require the following:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Previous supply chain experience.
- ERP system knowledge (i.e. Ricardo or SAP).
- Proven problem solving and analytical skills, the ability to analyse potential alternatives and provide suitable solutions.
