Senior Occupational Therapist

Are you an Occupational Therapist seeking a new challenge? Do you have previous experience supporting Adults?

Service Care Solutions are working with Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust to recruit a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to support an early intervention and acute rehabilitation team at Alexandra Hospital.

The contract duration is for 6 months with the likelihood of extension. This is a full-time placement with 37.5 hours available. Part-time applications of 3 Days or more will also be considered.

Position: Band 7 Occupational Therapist
Location: Alexandra Hospital, Worcestershire
Hours: Mon - Fri, 8.30-4.30 or 8.00-4.00
Contract Duration: ASAP for 6 months (flexible)

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Clinical Practice:
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred occupational therapy services within an acute NHS hospital setting.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients with a variety of medical conditions, with a particular focus on those with cognitive difficulties and frail elderly patients.

  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans aimed at early intervention and acute rehabilitation, facilitating optimal recovery and discharge outcomes.

  1. Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration:
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to team meetings, case discussions, and joint care planning.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.

  1. Leadership and Supervision:
  • Lead and manage a team of occupational therapists and support staff, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and service delivery.
  1. Service Development:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvements and initiatives within the department.
  1. Fast Track Discharge:
  • Manage the occupational therapy input for patients on fast track discharge pathways, ensuring timely and safe discharge plans are in place.

  • Liaise with community services and external agencies to coordinate seamless transitions from hospital to home or other care settings.

  1. Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with NHS policies and professional standards.

Requirements

  • Occupational Therapy qualification
  • HCPC Registration
  • Experience working with older adults
