Working Pattern -

Hybrid – 3 days per week in the Vitality London Office. Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

What this role is all about:

  • Developing an understanding of Sustainability and Climate Change across different dimensions, including – regulatory, financial, marketing/PR & messaging and others

  • Engaging with multiple departments such as finance, people and property, risk and compliance and more, to support our Net Zero strategy and targets. This includes:

  • Embedding sustainability into our culture and decision making

  • Creating positive change through collaborating with our partners and suppliers

  • Ensuring people make more sustainable choices through Vitality products and services

  • Social Impact project:

  • Implementing a strategy around charitable giving, focusing on how we can use our unique business model and partnerships to help others make healthier choices. Whilst also aiding those who face barriers to entry

  • Adherence to regulatory requirements related to climate change (e.g. supporting the embedding of SS3/19, TCFD and other emerging requirements)

  • Keeping up with emerging Sustainability market initiatives and practices

  • Annual ESG reporting to Discovery including CDP, TCFD, ESG data and Sustainability report

  • Internal and external communications around Sustainability

Key Actions

  • Acting as a springboard for discussion and ideas with the Sustainability Team
  • Must be willing to take on ad hoc tasks. This role will be part of a very small team and will require strong engagement across the business
  • Supporting the required ESG reporting to Discovery on an annual basis including CDP, TCFD, ESG data and annual sustainability report
  • Supporting with communications around Sustainability internally and externally – this will require strong literacy skills
  • Working with external stakeholders in the areas of Sustainability, Climate change, D&I and CSR.
  • Regular collation of reporting metrics
  • Writing and preparing presentations and papers for key meetings and committees
  • Production of high quality PowerPoint presentations including data gathering, interpretation of information and creating final formatted documents
  • Prepare variety of documents, using standard formats/packages, adhering to brand guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Create and prepare management reports as required
  • Supporting at all Sustainability Committee meetings
  • Must have ability to operate on many levels, from doing simple tasks through to detailed analysis and understanding of operational, HR and financial topics
  • Represent the business as appropriate with external bodies or business contacts
  • Identify opportunities & take action to build working relationships both internally and externally

Essential Skills needed to fulfil this role:

  • Good understanding of Sustainability and climate change
  • Excellent knowledge of IT software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Capable of working under pressure and using own initiative
  • Demonstrate, through words and behaviours, an in-depth understanding and strong personal commitment to your work
  • Be confident in expressing own views, values, and beliefs with enthusiasm and conviction
