We are seeking an experienced contractor to provide interim technical guidance to a data engineering team for 3 months. This role is essential to maintaining operational stability and progressing key projects during a transition period.
What you'll be doing
You'll be joining an established data department working with the Head of Data, the Data Architect, the Data Visualisation Lead and Data Governance Manager, as well as the wider IT & Infrastructure team.
- You will be responsible for maintaining ongoing projects and overseeing a small data engineering team, ensuring continuity and stability.
- A key responsibility will include planning and executing an ETL migration to Airflow, in collaboration with the data architect and architecture team.
- The contractor will play a supportive role in new proof of concept and pilot projects, requiring hands-on involvement and oversight.
What experience you'll need to apply for this role
- Solid experience as a Senior/Lead Data Engineer
- Some team leading/development/mentoring experience
- Experience working with the AWS ecosystem
- Experience running migrations
- Enterprise level business exposure
- Airflow experience
