Accounts Assistant; 12-month project role

Think of this as a project accountant opportunity; if you are IT savvy, with superb transactional finance skills and some exposure to financial analysis, then this could very well be for you! Working for an international manufacturing company, you will be office based from their site on the outskirts of Bridgend and supporting teams locally, across Europe and worldwide. You will be a natural problem solver; confidently taking accountability for the escalation and resolution of customer account queries. Your role will incorporate the full end to end of accounts receivable (although there is very little in terms of Credit Control) for the UK part of the business including invoices, credit notes, cash receipts and adjustments.
You will be supporting various teams working across multiple departments and sites; helping to resolve discrepancies and manage the month-end process. Due to the complexities of the business (such as teams working across multiple sites Europe-wide), you will need an excellent understanding of the financial process and procedure. This could be from experience...... but be aware that they are particularly interested in meeting people who have studied AAT or ACCA, with accompanying experience. This experience will need to include the following;
- Distribution of customer invoices, credit notes, statements and other customer information.
- You will need robust exposure to daily cash management such as allocations and cash book work.
- Reconciliation of balance sheets and associated tasks
- Assisting with monthly cash forecasting and management
- Supporting the month-end scheduling and analysis
- Assisting with the closing of the receivables' ledger at month-end
You will need to be highly adept with MS Excel as a significant part of your role will see you using the application to support statistical analyses to determine trends, estimating and predicting significant changes. Some good exposure to larger and more complex ERP systems such as SAP, SAGE 500, Oracle or MS Dynamics would be useful. This role will be office based across a 5 day, 40 hour week. You will get free parking on site, a degree of flexibility regarding working hours..... and although there is no guarantee of an extension beyond 12 months, it's not out of the question........ and this role will look fabulous on your CV!
