On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:
- Ensure accurate financial statements by reconciling accounts and verifying balances.
- Analyse financial transactions to identify trends, anomalies and, or areas of improvement.
- Maintain the fixed asset schedule
- Manage prepayment entries
- Post purchase invoices accurately and adhere to payment terms
- Raise sales invoices
- Generate and maintain aged debt report
- Monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
- Assistance with reporting and resolving issues with the finance system to support the team.
- Collaborate on projects or ad hoc tasks as directed by the Finance Manager.
What you'll need to succeed
Being AAT qualified/graduate and be looking to continue with your professional qualification qualifications in ACCA/CIMA you will already possess a good amount of relevant accounting experience in an assistant accountant capacity. This position requires; a proactive approach, strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of double entry accounting, along with some month-end experience in balance sheet reconciliation, journals and accruals/prepayments. The ability to work to tight deadlines is also essential, so coming from a busy/larger company would be an advantage.
