Role: Management Accountant
Location: Leeds (minimum 3 days a week in the office)
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum
Type: 12 month fixed term contract
Are you looking to join a growing and successful company that offers a friendly team environment? We are seeking a hands-on, qualified Management Accountant to ensure accurate and insightful financial reporting and forecasting, driving decision-making at all levels.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will manage a small team, producing monthly management accounts, preparing budgets, and providing key financial insights. This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to grow with the company as it expands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and analyse monthly management accounts and KPIs
- Investigate and explain financial variances to stakeholders across the business
- Identify and analyse financial trends to inform investment and operational decisions
- Drive commercial reporting and hold departmental heads accountable
- Prepare annual budgets and regular forecasts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash-Flow, KPI benchmarking)
- Produce open book accounting reports for the external governing bodies
- Assist with year-end and statutory audit processes
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, processes, and policies
- Develop and lead a high-performing finance team
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified accountant, ideally CIMA
- Experience in a group environment, preferably with multi-site operations
- Strong organisational and management skills with a focus on continuous improvement
- Detail-oriented and inquisitive
- Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Excel and familiar with Sage
- People management experience to reach deadlines and improve efficiencies across the team
