Senior Marine Claims Adjuster

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Marine Claims Adjuster on behalf of our client, a very well-established and highly regarded Lloyd's Syndicate.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Direct and Facultative Reinsurance Claims across a range of classes, including Cargo, Fine Art & Specie, Marine Hull, Marine Liability, Crisis Management, Political Risk / Trade Credit, and Upstream Energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting within an agreed claims handling authority and upholding the departmental objectives.
- Receiving and acting upon first notifications and updates, determining coverage.
- Taking a fair and proportionate approach towards policyholders.
- Agreeing valid claims.
- Establishing and maintaining reserves.
- Carrying out negotiations with brokers, face to face when required.
- Handling complex claims through the discovery process to obtaining judgement.
Key Requirements
- Experience of handling Marine Liability and/or Energy / Casualty Claims. Candidates with broader Marine Claims experience would also be of interest.
- Strong litigation, mediation, dispute resolution and deposition skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Full working knowledge of ECF and DocoSoft.
