Accounts Assistant

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to support the Management Accountant and Finance Director. In this role, you will ensure accuracy in customer and supplier payments, assist with the preparation of financial information, handle ad-hoc requests, and contribute to the creation of accurate financial reports. This position requires excellent communication skills across both B2B and B2C channels.

This role is ideal for candidates looking to progress their studies in ACCA, CIMA, or AAT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Payment Management: Process operator invoices, ensure accuracy against booking agreements, and create commission invoices as required.
  • Weekly Payment Runs: Compile and process payments to suppliers, client refunds, general bills, and agent commissions.
  • Supplier Communication: Send payment advice emails to suppliers/operators following each payment run.
  • Bank Account Management: Oversee multiple currency bank accounts, process outgoing payments promptly, and resolve Bankline queries.
  • Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation: Weekly bank account reconciliation, credit card statement management, and processing of expenses.
  • Sales and Directors Support: Assist with financial queries as needed.
  • Month-End Reporting: Assist with month-end reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations and account line reviews, for timely management accounts closure.
  • Booking System Management: Oversee and manage the progress of bookings within the system.

Cash flow reporting

  • Credit card management and processing card payments
  • Sending booking statements and confirmation emails to clients upon payment
  • Credit control for bookings, including sending balance reminders and following up on overdue payments

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
  • AAT qualification or part-qualification in CIMA is desirable
  • Proficiency with Xero is advantageous experience with Salesforce is a bonus
  • Strong communication skills with a friendly, professional approach
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise effectively, and work well under pressure
  • Strong customer care and problem-solving skills
