This esteemed law firm is currently seeking a talented and experienced Legal Commercial Litigation Consultant to join their dynamic team based in London.
As a Legal Commercial Litigation Consultant with the firm, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of complex commercial litigation matters, providing expert advice and strategic guidance to valued clients.
The practice handles the full range of corporate and commercial disputes including:
- M&A disputes
- shareholder and joint venture disputes
- commercial contract disputes
- competition and antitrust litigation
- commercial fraud
- derivatives and structured finance disputes
- insolvency and restructuring litigation
- class actions
- insurance litigation
- securities litigation and aviation and shipping litigation.
The team are also at the vanguard of emerging disputes driven by sustainability/ESG related issues and those involving data, cyber-security, fintech and digitalisation.
Areas of responsibility can include:
- Advising clients on a range of corporate and commercial disputes (in meetings, on the phone and in writing)
- Supporting the corporate transactional team with ad hoc queries
- Liaising with clients, attending client meetings and managing client expectations
- Preparing clients for court proceedings and trials
- Assisting with witness statements
- Legal research
- Assisting with second level or key document review and disclosure exercises from time to time
Requirements
- Have a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience at a law firm ranked as top tier for commercial litigation;
- Strong, in-depth commercial litigation skills
- Have researched the personal and financial factors that need to be considered when commencing a career as a legal consultant and be comfortable with the ways in which it differs from permanent employment
- Have an ability to make effective transitions into new environments and be motivated to deliver an excellent standard of service to each client;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to professionally deal with stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships internally and externally;
- Have a practising certificate (or equivalent) which entitles them to practise as a lawyer in the UK.
