Job Title: Project Officer

Location: Hybrid - min. 2 days a week to be office based - Sheerness House, Meadow Road, Kettering

Rate of Pay: £22 per hour Umbrella / £16.92 per hour PAYE

Working Hours: Full Time - 37 hours

Type: Temporary Role - Until the end of September 2024

Opus People Solutions are working with North Northamptonshire Council to recruit for a Project Officer.

Purpose of the job:

This role will report to the Strategic Lead - Communities & Wellbeing and will be responsible to provide project management to deliver a high-profile project - in supporting the Place Based Partnership (PBP) Chairs and the team in developing the proposition /options appraisal. This role will also then develop the Phase 4 development plans for each of the four PBPs.

Principal responsibilities:

  1. Ability to use a wealth of data to inform recommendations to inform the project options appraisal.
  2. To utilise data from a variety of sources to inform project planning for each of the four PBPs.
  3. To prepare project feasibilities, project initiation documents, project briefs, project plans, project risk registers and specifications.
  4. To ensure that project files and document control procedures are maintained.
  5. Draft and help prepare and present data, in various formats, to key stakeholders, including Senior Officers, PBP Chairs.
  6. Carry out research where required to support the planning and delivery of projects.
  7. To support the development of a service ethos that demonstrates flexibility, professionalism, and commitment to the priorities of the Council.
  8. Support the Strategic Lead on project governance, providing clear management direction, support and challenge both to the service, team and individually, as appropriate and respond to development needs as they are identified ensuring a confident professional service.
  9. To support the development the Place Phase 4 Development programme through the Place Based Partnerships and Local Area Partnerships.
  10. Write and develop reports for projects and support with the evaluation, monitoring and updates for programmes as required for senior management and external partners.
