The Institute of Technology (IoT) Marketing Manager role:

We are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to join our new Surrey and Sussex Institute of Technology (IoT) team. Led by the Chichester College Group (CCG) and a consortium including the University of Sussex, University of Brighton and North East Surrey College of Technology (Nescot), the IoT will deliver training from a new state-of-the-art hub at Crawley College, housing engineering and digital ‘Learning Factories', and specialist satellites at locations across the region, from East Surrey and the Gatwick Diamond to rural West Sussex and coastal communities.

Marketing and communication will be a key element in the launch and promotion of the IoT to stakeholders, employers and students across the region. Working with organisations across the consortium, the Marketing Manager will need to manage a comprehensive range of campaigns, PR and events, either independently or in conjunction with our partners.

Key Responsibilities of our Institute of Technology (IoT) Marketing Manager:

  • Supporting the development of employer engagement and student recruitment marketing and communication strategies that contribute to the IoT's growth targets, priorities and objectives.
  • Managing the planning and implementation of dedicated IoT marketing activity, using campaign schedules that incorporate objectives, messaging, budgets and methods of evaluation appropriate for a range of IoT audiences.
  • Managing the co-ordination and integration of partners IoT marketing, communication and events, using their online, print and digital platforms to ensure maximum exposure, consistency and alignment to project objectives.
  • Managing the IoT Marketing and Communication budget, including monitoring of expenditure against planned activity.
  • Working within the IoT brand guidelines, ensuring compliance and advise partners, and other users of the brand, on brand use and application.
  • Leading on the co-ordination and management of a calendar of IoT events and initiatives delivered by all partners.
  • Leading or contribute to the development of content for the external market, and support partners in the generation of content for their organisations staff and student audiences.
  • Working closely with partners PR and communications teams to maximise media opportunities, raising the IoT projects profile, locally, regionally and nationally

Our ideal Institute of Technology (IoT) Marketing Manager should have the below skills and experience:

  • A professional marketing qualification (e.g. CIM Professional Diploma or Professional Diploma in Digital marketing, or equivalent), or relevant industry experience
  • Level 3 qualification(s) in related subject(s) e.g., IT, Communications, English
  • Experience in budget management and reporting
  • Experience working with other teams to plan and deliver agreed projects outcomes
  • Experience planning and delivering integrated marketing campaigns and events
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook
