The role of Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer is a varied one, covering maintenance services across a wide range of plant and equipment within the distribution facility.
The company is a leading distribution provider in their field and are a long-standing well-known business based in Hull with a multi-site storage facility offering for their clients.
They operate a day shift Monday to Friday days, 8am to 4pm with an early finish on Friday. With a call out 1 in 3 weeks with remote access to the facility. Depending on circumstances, on call to site may be required along with liaising with 3rd party contractors.
The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer role:
- Maintain service and repair plant facility to minimise down time
- Reactive and PPM duties. Electrical and Mechanical
- Ensure faults, breakdowns or issues are logged and reported correctly
- Carry out fault finding and repair of equipment and facilities
- Promote risk assessments to ensure safe systems of working
- Willingly take up opportunities for training in specialist plant and equipment
- Seek out and highlight opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiencies, and cost effectiveness
- Support and conduct regular inspections and testing
The Candidate:
- A background in warehouse environments, ideally with good exposure to both mechanical and electrical applications within temperature-controlled environments
- Previous experience working as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
- Understanding of continuous improvement initiatives
- Good experience of managing safety in your daily activities
- Strong team working capabilities
- Experience working with CMMS platforms
Qualifications and skills required
- 17th/18th edition regulations
- Understanding and knowledge of working with ammonia
- Previous maintenance planning experience
- CMMS systems knowledge
- Able to deal with contractors and customers
