Aspire People are recruiting a School Caretaker in Bridgnorth
Hours - Monday to Friday between 7am-6pm
Start Date - ASAP
Location - Bridgnorth
Salary - £15-£17 per hour
Aspire People are seeking to recruit a dedicated and reliable School Caretaker to help maintain one of our client's school grounds and building, ensuring a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for students, staff, and visitors.
The role will start on a temporary/ad-hoc basis, please only apply if this is suitable and you have a flexible approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs across the school premises, including plumbing, electrical work, and general building upkeep.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the school grounds, including litter picking, sweeping, and managing waste disposal.
- Manage the security of the school, including opening and closing the premises, setting alarms, and ensuring the site is secure at all times.
- Oversee the maintenance of school facilities, including classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and sports areas.
- Liaise with contractors and manage onsite works to ensure minimal disruption to the school day.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks and report any issues to the school management.
- Assist with setting up for school events, including moving furniture and equipment as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, preferably within a school or similar environment.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, and general building maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- A friendly and approachable demeanour with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and visitors.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as required.
As this is a school position you will need to have an enhanced and clear DBS.
