Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location - Sandwich, Kent

Salary - £38,000 - £44,000 DOE

Hours - 12 hr days 6:00 am - 6.00 pm, followed by 4 days off, and then 12 hr night shifts 6 pm - 6 am.

As the Electrical Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities would include

  • Assisting the Engineering team with the overall target of achieving zero breakdowns.
  • Undertake planned maintenance tasks autonomously to maximise machinery uptime and minimise disruption to production targets.
  • Assist and support with reactive maintenance tasks proactively, ensuring manufacturing downtime is kept to a minimum
  • Work on electrical installations up to 440V, process safety circuits, and electrical control circuits, following relevant health and safety standards
  • Undertake proactive and effective fault diagnosis utilising both mechanical and electrical root cause analysis to establish problems and determine solutions
  • Uphold stringent Health and Safety standards following company policies

Person specifications for the role of Electrical Maintenance Engineer

  • Must hold a Formal Qualification in Engineering, NVQ level 3+ with a minimum of five years' experience in Electrical and Mechanical

Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering ideally within a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to demonstrate actual workplace experience in applying Engineering knowledge and skills to perform root cause analysis
  • Will have good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Essential candidate can problem solve within a pressured environment
  • Must have the ability to work and collaborate as part of a team is an essential attribute
  • Have a sound base knowledge of AC and DC motor maintenance
  • Variable Speed Drives (fundamental knowledge)

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Ideally, be 18th Edition IEE wiring regulations certified
  • Experienced in working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Will have sound basic welding techniques
