As we expand, we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Buyer to join our procurement team.

Role Overview:
As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in managing the end-to-end procurement process. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of goods and services, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives. This role also plays a key part in sourcing for new projects and supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), working cross-functionally with engineering, production, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement activities from sourcing and negotiation to purchase order placement and supplier performance management.
  • Source, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to support new projects and NPI activities.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand material and component requirements, ensuring alignment with project timelines and cost objectives.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to ensure optimal value for the business.
  • Monitor market trends and supply chain risks to proactively identify opportunities for cost reduction or supply improvement.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure ERP system is up to date.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, contributing to operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Group Procurement where appropriate to leverage group buying power and align with group strategy.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in a procurement/purchasing role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience supporting NPI or project-based sourcing activity is desirable.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards) is an advantage.
