We are seeking a dynamic SEN Teacher to join our outstanding team. Reed Education are representing an Ofsted-rated Outstanding school and college, accredited by the National Autistic Society. We offer excellent opportunities for teachers to develop expertise in the field of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). There will be an opportunity to go permanent depending on if you are the right fit for the team.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead a class of up to 14 students with complex learning disabilities, supported by a dedicated team including Higher Level Teaching Assistants and TAs.
  • Work closely with our integrated therapy team to deliver a therapy-based education tailored to each student's needs.
  • Engage in regular CPD opportunities to further develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Take on leadership of a subject area, where applicable, as discussed during the interview process.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience in an SEN setting is ideal, but applications from NQTs and ECTs are welcome.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with staff, children, families, and professionals.
  • Patience and adaptability to meet the individual pace and needs of each student.
  • Ability to work in a team and dynamically risk assess challenging situations.
  • Physical and mental resilience.
