A well-established, highly regarded school in East London is seeking dedicated and experienced Design & Technology (DT) teachers to join our innovative and supportive teaching team. Our school fosters creativity, hands-on learning, and critical thinking, enabling students to thrive and prepare for future career paths in design, engineering, and beyond.

The Role:
We are looking for passionate DT teachers with a strong track record of delivering engaging, high-quality lessons at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The ideal candidate will inspire students, building their confidence and skills across the Design & Technology curriculum, and encouraging them to push boundaries in design, problem-solving, and practical application. This role will involve working with a dynamic team and engaging with modern teaching methods, including CAD/CAM and other cutting-edge tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging DT lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Inspire students across various disciplines of DT, including product design, resistant materials, graphics, and/or textiles.
  • Foster a positive and safe learning environment in classrooms and workshops.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative projects and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Stay current with advancements in DT education and technology to continuously improve the curriculum.

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching Design & Technology at secondary level (Key Stage 3-5).
  • Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of DT subjects, ideally with expertise in CAD/CAM.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Passion for inspiring young learners and developing their creativity and problem-solving skills.
