Electrical Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Building Services Engineer to join our expanding team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and contract supervision of electrical building services on a range of complex and highly technical projects. These projects span various sectors including residential, commercial, retail, sports/leisure, hotels, industrial, mission critical, storage/archive, and healthcare.

Your role will involve managing your workload efficiently, producing high-quality designs, specifications, and reports. You will also be expected to represent the company in meetings with other professionals such as architects, structural engineers, project managers, and quantity surveyors.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop conceptual and detailed electrical design solutions that meet client briefs.
  • Carry out detailed electrical services design and calculations using design software such as Amtech, Hevacomp, IES, Relux, Dialux, or similar tools.
  • Conduct technical and quality reviews of project information to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Produce electrical specifications, schedules, reports, and technical papers.
  • Assist in the preparation of fee submissions and project bids.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to secure repeat business.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and guidance at both project and group levels.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, condition reports, dilapidation surveys, and pre-acquisition inspections.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and BIM360.

Requirements

**Qualifications:

  • HNC/Degree in Building Services, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Working toward Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
  • Membership in professional institutions such as CIBSE or IET is highly desirable.
  • Registration with the Engineering Council is preferred.

**Experience & Skills:

  • Proficient in producing detailed electrical design solutions
  • Experienced in managing M&E design projects.
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, Design Standards, and Guides.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Amtech, Hevacomp/IES, AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
