Unipart Logistics (UL) has secured a contract to run the new, custom-built Jaguar Land Rover Global Parts Logistics Centre at Appleby Magna in Leicestershire. As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you'll maintain services on site, providing support to all departments. You will take Facilities Maintenance to the next level for operations and overall efficiency.

As part of your responsibilities, you will;

  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with Health and Safety policies and procedures across all 3 warehouses on site
  • Maintain all plant and machinery (including internal office fixture and fittings) which are applicable to the agreed scope of works
  • Respond to, escalate, record, and complete planned and reactive maintenance tasks in accordance with schedules
  • Carry our basic fault finding on electrical / packaging and mechanical equipment and machines, following logical steps to resolve the issues when under pressure.
  • Specify and order materials and purchased parts and machinery to support work required.
  • Carry out basic civil, carpentry, decoration and plumbing works where required.
  • Assist in site inductions / toolbox talks with contractors to ensure they follow ‘Guidance for Contractors' guidelines.
  • Cover other shift patterns during any periods of sickness & holidays.

About You

We'd love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you'd be able to perform well in this role!

  • Maintenance experience - problem solving & fault finding. Mechanical / compressed air systems & electrical plants would be an advantage.
  • Time served tradesperson, multi skilled, with a good basic level of education & hands on / can do attitude.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
  • FLT & MEWP driving licence preferred but not essential
  • Basic experience in both mechanical & electrical functions - 18th Edition would be advantageous
  • Working knowledge of the latest regulatory & statutory regulation, including the likes of PUWER / LOLER.
  • Proven experience in racking repairs / inspection would be an advantage, but training will be given
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Experience of and comfortable with working at heights
  • A team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work under pressure and on their own initiative
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • A high degree of initiative and strong problem-solving capability
