Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Maths)

Job Overview:
As a Maths Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Maths department, working closely with teachers to enhance students' learning experience. Your role will involve assisting in the delivery of lessons, providing one-on-one and small group support, and helping students to overcome barriers to learning. Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Maths teacher in the planning and delivery of lessons.
- Working with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning objectives and provide targeted support.
- Assisting students who require additional help in understanding mathematical concepts.
- Helping to prepare teaching materials and resources for lessons.
- Providing feedback to the teacher on students' progress and areas of concern.
- Supporting the development of students' numeracy skills across different abilities.
- Encouraging a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assisting with classroom management and maintaining a safe, orderly learning environment.
- Supporting students with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND), ensuring they have equal access to learning.
- Participating in school activities, such as extracurricular clubs or intervention sessions.
- Helping to assess and track students' progress and achievement.
- Performing any other duties as required by the department or senior leadership team.
Person Specification:
- A strong background in Maths, ideally with a relevant qualification at A-level or higher.
- Previous experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
- A genuine passion for Maths and a desire to inspire students to achieve their full potential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting students' learning.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
- Experience working with students with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).
- Knowledge of current educational practices and methodologies in Maths teaching.
