We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Safeguarding Social Worker to join a dynamic team based in Peterborough.

Job Summary:

As a Children's Safeguarding Social Worker, you will play a critical role in protecting and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing interventions to safeguard children and support families in crisis. Your work will involve collaboration with various professionals and agencies to ensure the best outcomes for the children in your care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of children and families to identify risks and needs.
  • Develop and implement effective safeguarding plans to protect children from harm.
  • Carry out statutory duties in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Work closely with families, providing support and interventions to promote positive change.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including police, health services, and education providers, to coordinate safeguarding efforts.
  • Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including child protection conferences and court proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions, assessments, and interventions.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and other stakeholders on safeguarding matters.
  • Participate in regular supervision and training to enhance professional development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Social Work and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience in children's safeguarding and child protection work.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to safeguarding children.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Empathetic and resilient with a commitment to making a difference in the lives of children and families.
  • Proficiency in IT, including experience with electronic case management systems.
