Personal Tax Senior - Solihull

Our client is seeking a Personal Tax Senior to join their firm. As a Personal Tax Senior, you will be responsible for managing the personal tax affairs of a portfolio of clients. This role involves preparing self-assessment tax returns, assisting with tax planning, and on-going support to ensure the efficient operation of the tax department.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in taxation, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional client service.

Working with the Tax Director, there will also be the opportunity to have an involvement in other tax aspects of the department, including trust, HNWI, CGT etc

Study support will be provided for this role.

Your main day to day responsibilities will include:

Tax Return Preparation:

  • Prepare and file self-assessment tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, including HNW individuals & OMBs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
  • Assist in gathering financial information and documentation required for tax return preparation.
  • Review and verify client information to identify potential tax reliefs etc.

Client Communication:

  • Communicate with clients to request necessary information and respond to inquiries regarding their tax returns.
  • Provide clients with updates on the status of their tax returns and address any concerns or questions they may have

Tax Planning and Advisory:

  • Assist the tax director in developing and implementing tax planning strategies to minimise clients' tax liabilities.
  • Conduct research on current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify tax-saving opportunities.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other members of the tax team to ensure seamless service delivery and effective collaboration on client matters.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of tax processes and procedures.

Relevant Qualifications and experience you will hold:

    • Relevant experience in tax preparation or a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of personal income tax regulations and tax filing procedures.

  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards
