An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Legal Assistant to join the Property team at a leading law firm in South Wales. Role Overview:

As a Legal Assistant in the Property team, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the smooth progression of property transactions from offer acceptance to completion. This position involves liaising with clients, solicitors, estate agents, and other key stakeholders to ensure transactions are completed on time and in accordance with high-quality standards. Although based in Llanishen, the role may occasionally require travel to other offices in South Wales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist solicitors in managing property case files, ensuring transactions progress efficiently and meet set timelines.
  • Act as a liaison between clients, solicitors, estate agents, mortgage brokers, and other parties involved in the conveyancing process.
  • Provide regular updates to clients and address any queries or concerns they may have throughout the transaction process.
  • Handle administrative tasks including typing, answering calls, preparing documentation, and drafting completion statements.
  • Assist with onboarding property cases and managing post-completion matters, including Land Transaction Tax (LTT) and Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) returns.
  • Collaborate with the property team to streamline processes and handle multiple cases simultaneously.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 12 months' experience in a similar role within the legal property sector.
  • Strong understanding of residential and/or commercial conveyancing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Organisational skills to prioritise tasks and assist fee earners with a busy caseload.
  • Knowledge of conveyancing procedures, legal documentation, and regulations for property transactions in England and Wales.
  • Proficiency in case management software and MS Office suite.
  • Enthusiasm for property law and a keen attention to detail.
