About the role

We are recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team on a 9 month Fixed-Term Contract or a 9 month Internal Secondment.

The Health and Safety Advisor will assist in the successful delivery in Safety Service projects through providing competent health and safety advice and assistance to the Senior Leadership Team and subject matter experts.

The successful candidate will support with the review of UCL's health and safety policies, standards and guidance improve the health and safety processes and procedures to ensure they are current, correct and meaningful for service users. They will take on responsibility for continuing the development of the Safety Service audit function to ensure it is effectively implemented and maintained and will develop the processes and procedures to plan, establish, implement and maintain the audit programme(s).

Additionally, they will assist with the smooth transfer from the shared drive to a SharePoint site, aligning with the Staff Intranet health and safety sites and Teams Channel and will assist with the development of a Safety Service standard operating procedure for data and reporting for the weekly and monthly senior meetings.

About you

To be successful in this role, you need to have a professional qualification at degree level in Health and Safety, this could be a NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent L6 occupational health and safety qualification. You should also hold CertIOSH membership and be working towards CMIOSH, or CMIOSH membership.

You should have experience of planning, delivering and reporting on project progress, working in small teams and engaging with stakeholders. You will have excellent IT skills including use of Microsoft applications, including Excel, Teams, SharePoint and Power BI.
