SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for an immediate start, to work 1-2-1 with a Key Stage 1 pupil. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children's educational journey and are committed to working with children who have additional needs.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide 1-2-1 support to a KS1 pupil, assisting with their educational and social development.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to support across all areas of the curriculum.
- Adapt communication and engagement techniques to meet the needs of the pupil.
- Monitor and track the pupil's progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the classroom environment.
- Encourage the pupil's confidence, self-esteem, and independence.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with children with ASD.
- SEND experience is preferred but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
