Floating Youth Support Worker

LOCATIONS:

Various locations across North and West Kent.

SALARY:

£26,000

DURATION:

FTC till June 2025

HOURS:

37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

(Flexible working hours dependent on the needs of the Service User)

Note: WE ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE SPONSORSHIP OR SUPPORT THOSE ON A SKILLED WORKER VISA.

Daily Duties

  • Work with district councils, housing providers, KCC and other partners to promote the service and encourage referrals for appropriate children and young people.
  • Proactively engage children, young people and their families who are entering safe accommodation to ensure they are aware of the service.
  • Work respectfully and tenaciously to establish positive relationships with CYP and their families to secure meaningful engagement and understand their needs.
  • Maintain relationships with children and young people not yet ready to participate fully in the service.
  • Work creatively to capture the voices of children and young people and ensure that participation and co-production are core aspects of the service.
  • Explore all opportunities for talents and interests to be developed using local resources.
  • Facilitate group-based practitioner and peer led support groups.
  • Ensure a good level of support to children, young people and families, including onward referral to other agencies where necessary.
  • Implement specified evaluation tools and techniques to accurately evidence the impact of the service.
  • Keep clear accurate records and provide the required monitoring and evaluation information and any other progress reports required by due dates.
  • Attend monthly supervision for quality assurance and personal development purposes.
  • Consider own training needs, keeping up to date with relevant good practice, and sharing this with team members.

Essential requirements

  • DBS within the last 12 months (must have original copy)
  • Supported children and young people.
  • Driver with own car

Desirable requirements

  • Experience working with domestic violence victims.
