Reed are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established internationally recognised specialist laboratory equipment manufacturer and supplier.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Electrical: single and 3 phases – must be qualified in electrical work
- Hands-on engineering maintenance and mechanical repairs on a wide range of industrial machines.
- Machine operation including manual lathe work, milling and drilling to create bespoke tools and components for use in the production process.
- Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance and responding to breakdowns.
- Developing maintenance procedures and diagnosing faults.
- Obtaining or creating specialist components, fixtures or fittings. Managing related supplies and equipment.
- Erecting and assembling machinery.
- Building maintenance and repairs.
- Mechanical: bearings, pumps, valves, chains.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
Our ideal candidates must be able to demonstrate:
- Experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance in a manufacturing/production or industrial facility.
- 3+ years' experience as a manual machinist.
- Proven experience with electrical maintenance including installation, repair and testing.
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety standards.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage a varied workload.
- Good attention to detail and numeracy skills.
- Good planning and time management skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
