Qualifications and Attributes:

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years of continuous experience in a Financial Planning Firm.
  • Minimum 2 years of continuous experience as a Paraplanner.
  • Regulated Diploma in Financial Planning (Level 4) or equivalent.
  • In-depth understanding of the UK financial regulatory framework and legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative working style.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and under the supervision of the Technical Team Leader.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Desirable:

  • Ability to give and receive specific, constructive feedback.
  • Ability to consider multiple viewpoints in decision-making.
  • Persuasive and confident with details and facts.
  • Working towards Chartered Status or willingness to pursue Chartered status in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, FCA Statements of Principle & Code of Practice, and FCA rules at all times.
  • Adhere to the firm's Compliance, TCF, T&C, AML, Data Protection, and Data Security Procedures.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the firm's compliance procedures, including record-keeping requirements.
  • Achieve the required level of competency within the initial six-month probationary period.
  • Understand the firm's employee handbook and associated policies.

Key Tasks:

  • Accurately interpret advisers' client files to ascertain the client's needs and advisers' instructions, translating this into a Financial Planning Report.
  • Conduct appropriate research and analysis to determine the most suitable providers, products, and investment funds to meet client needs.
  • Keep the Technical Team Leader updated on the nature of advice being passed through paraplanning.
  • Coordinate with the Compliance Team for work requiring pre-sale authorization.
  • Prepare reports within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure Financial Planning Reports are accurate in spelling and composition.
  • Maintain and regularly update recorded data (Paraplanning log).
  • Commit to a Personal Development Plan and uphold all performance standards required by the firm.
