Hours:

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, flexi hours between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Manager to join our client's team in Tyseley. This temp-to-perm role offers a salary of £45,000 per annum, working 37.5 hours per week between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM Monday-Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all departmental activities including Health & Safety, KPIs, labor management, training, team development, quality, environment, and security.
  • Plan resource requirements and manage shortages/surpluses.
  • Implement and monitor operational and financial KPIs.
  • Control cost performance against budget.
  • Approve departmental reports ensuring KPI data integrity.
  • Conduct regular reviews with customers and suppliers.
  • Brief Supervisors and Team Leaders on updates and initiatives.
  • Ensure effective pre-shift briefings and handovers.
  • Develop cross-training plans to meet SLAs.
  • Plan and conduct training and refresher sessions.
  • Review and comply with operational change requests.
  • Attend and chair relevant meetings.
  • Support and coach supervisors and team leaders.
  • Build relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Manage performance, attendance, and disciplinary processes.
  • Handle recruitment and selection.
  • Investigate and report accidents and incidents.
  • Report and review Health & Safety issues.
  • Conduct appraisals and contribute to succession planning.
  • Operate and improve Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives and training.
  • Provide reports and undertake special projects.
  • Conduct site tours and presentations for customers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet analysis.
  • Experience managing large teams and budgets.
  • Understanding KPIs and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience in appraisals, disciplinary actions, and project management.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong people focus and empathy.
  • Ability to implement change programs.
  • Good commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
