Are you ready to bring your hardware design skills to life? As a Hardware Design Engineer, you'll create cutting-edge hardware solutions for cool electronic systems. Your mission: deliver top-notch designs that are on time, budget-friendly, and meet the highest safety and quality standards. Plus, you'll get to troubleshoot, solve problems, and keep things running smoothly while driving continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and develop awesome hardware for electronic systems that hit all the right deadlines and specs.
  • Keep your designs efficient and cost-friendly (while still being cool, of course!).
  • Stay on top of best practices, always looking for ways to make your designs even better (and future-proof!).
  • Make sure everything follows the safety rules and quality standards (safety first!).
  • Crush those KPIs, like right-first-time designs, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.
  • Build great relationships with other teams and keep the communication flowing.
  • If any health, safety, or HR issues pop up, you'll be the first to let the Engineering Manager know.

What They Expect

  • You'll bring your A-game in hardware design, technical skills, time management, and problem-solving.
  • Zero accidents, over 95% right-first-time designs, and more than 95% on-time delivery-let's hit those numbers!
  • Stick to deadlines, keep costs in check, and make sure everything is top quality.
  • Oh, and be ready for random drug and alcohol testing (just in case!).

What You Bring

  • A strong grasp of electronics hardware design, along with health and safety knowledge.
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware design within electronics, plus skills in value engineering and continuous improvement.
  • A degree in Electronics Engineering (or something similar).
  • You're motivated, logical, and love being part of a team. Oh, and you thrive on innovation and bringing fresh ideas to the table.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, implement, and perfect cutting-edge hardware solutions.
  • Track project progress and smash those KPIs.
  • Make sure all your designs are safe, industry-compliant, and obsolescence-tolerant.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and get hands-on with debugging.
  • Lead smaller projects and contribute to larger ones.
  • Follow best practices, all while finding ways to improve and innovate.

What You Need:

  • A degree in Electronics Engineering or an NVQ Level 5 equivalent.
  • 3+ years of practical experience in electronics hardware design.

Must-have experience:

  • Analogue audio systems.
  • Microcontroller/processor work (STM32, Arm9, PIC).
  • Reverse engineering techniques.

Nice-to-have experience:

  • Transformer and power supply design.
  • FPGA/CPLD.
  • CCTV/Networking.
  • DFMEA and knowledge of railway industry standards.

Perks:

  • Basednear Nottingham just minutes from the M1.
  • Salary between £40,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience), plus annual salary reviews.
  • 37-hour workweek, with an early finish every Friday!
  • 25 days holiday (plus the option to buy 5 more).
  • Pension: employee contribution +2%, capped at 12%.
