We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our supportive team. This role is ideal for someone with a caring nature, drive, and vision, who is eager to make a positive impact on pupils with special educational needs. Our small class sizes and Teaching Assistant support create an environment conducive to personalised education.
Day to day of the role:
- Teach a small range of subjects to KS2, KS3, and KS4 students, with subjects to be discussed and agreed upon during the interview process.
- Adapt teaching methods to cater to a variety of ages and abilities.
- Develop and implement strategies to overcome barriers to learning and help pupils achieve their targets.
- Create a safe and positive learning environment, managing behaviour effectively.
- Maintain high expectations for all students, striving to raise attainment levels.
- Utilise IT skills for lesson planning and administration, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Communicate confidently with staff and pupils, fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
- Uphold rigorous safeguarding practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Teaching.
- Experience and knowledge of the full curriculum, with the ability to deliver in more than one area.
- Understanding and experience of working with young people with SEMH difficulties.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Understanding of Safeguarding practices.
- Willingness to undertake de-escalation and restraint training if not already trained.
