Business Systems Support Engineer

The Team & Focus of the Role

We're hiring for our first Business Systems Support Engineer! Our Development team is currently building a Core Application Support function that will be responsible for 2nd line support of Fisher German Business Systems. Initially the role will support our ERP system, internally developed applications, and collaboration systems. However, this will expand to support new systems planned for implementation over the next few years. The role will also allow you to be involved in larger projects to promote further change within the business.

You'll be working in a team that consists of Software Developers, SharePoint, and Database administrators so lots of knowledge around to learn & develop from.

If you have experience of working with ERP systems and enjoy solving and delving into technical issues and communicating those to the wider business then we'd love to hear from you.

This role will be based in Ashby, and although we do operate a hybrid working policy, it's essential that you're able to commute to Ashby weekly. Our standard hours are 08:45am - 5:15pm (37.5 hours), however we'd be open to discussing flexible working requirements with minimum working hours of 30 per week.

Duties will include:

  • IT support relating to technical issues involving Fisher Germans core business applications and internally developed applications.
  • Triage, update and log issues on our ITSM platform (Fresh Service) and Development Tracking platform (Jira)
  • Collaborative remediation of issues with our core business applications.
  • Second line support of our ERP platform - Access Group - Dimensions and Focal Point
  • Escalation of support requests to 3rd party system support and tracking of request through to remediation
  • Monitor tickets of the Business Support team to support SLAs Testing - Support in testing new launches of all business systems to provide an additional layer of quality assurance to our development capabilities
  • Training - Support in the creation of training documentation and participate in training videos
  • Owning and developing the support escalation workflows by working with the wider Systems teams to optimise service delivery

The successful candidate will have...

  • A qualification in a relevant field.
  • Experience of supporting Access Group ERP applications
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server and SQL query
  • Experience of supporting applications developed in NodeJS in AWS
  • Experience of ITSM platforms such as Fresh Service and Jira
  • Excellent communication with ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal in everyday language
  • Motivated, pro-active, enthusiastic, and friendly disposition
  • A passion to learn and develop their skills further
