Role Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Year 3/4 Teacher with a specialism in EAL (English as an Additional Language) to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and the skills to support students for whom English is not their first language.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for Year 3/4 pupils.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to support EAL students in accessing the curriculum.
  • Assess, monitor, and record the progress of all students, with a focus on those with EAL needs.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth.
  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, and carers to support the holistic development of each child.
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and practices, particularly those related to EAL provision.
  • Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in a relevant subject.
  • Proven experience teaching at the primary level, preferably in Year 3/4.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges and strategies involved in teaching EAL students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain an inclusive learning environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a reflective practice.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Additional qualifications or training in EAL.
  • Experience with innovative teaching practices and technology integration in the classroom.
  • A passion for extracurricular activities and willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
  • Enthusiasm for creating cross-curricular learning opportunities.
