Reed Education is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Lancaster. The role is to start immediately on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will have a robust knowledge of the Science curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering an engaging learning environment.
Day to day of the role:
- Delivering Science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, with the potential to teach KS5.
- Preparing lesson plans, materials, and resources that align with curriculum standards.
- Utilising effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning atmosphere.
- Assessing and monitoring student progress and providing feedback to support their academic growth.
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement instructional strategies.
- Participating in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Recent relevant experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4; experience with KS5 is advantageous.
- Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
- Reliable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for students.
- Good interpersonal skills, punctuality, patience, and confidence when working with children.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
