We are working with an innovative business, based in

Bath

, who are growing their sales team and are looking for a

Business Development Manager

to join them on a

permanent basis

What you'll be doing

  • Winning new business opportunities through face to face and virtual meetings, telesales, participation in exhibitions, and understanding potential prospects.
  • Maintaining a healthy pipeline of prospects and ensure accurate forecasting to drive business growth.
  • High-level of relationship building to effectively manage and retain the closure of new business.
  • Providing a consultative approach on clinical insights to develop tailored proposals.
  • Achieve annual sales targets and monthly quotas, providing regular sales forecasts and updates whilst actively attending internal sales meetings.
  • Identify opportunities for up-selling services and effectively communicate market and sponsor feedback internally to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

What you'll need to apply

  • At least 6 years of experience in B2B sales within a consultative, commercial environment in one or more of the following: science industry; scientific publishing; publishing; marketing agency; event sales; distribution sales; other professional sales services; professional services.
  • At least 8 years experience in media sales, ideally life science media.
  • A scientific degree or equivalent qualification or professional experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of the clinical industry.
  • Track record of new business, account management, and achieving targets.
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence on the phone and a creative flair to your work.
  • Drive and motivation to grow the business.
