Job Purpose Summary
To provide manufacturing engineering support to the production floor to meet internal and external customer needs. To identify, analyse, create and implement effective manufacturing processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Evaluate, develop and test potential solutions for in-process manufacturing problems.
- Design and co-ordinate the manufacture of production aids and tooling (in-house / external supplier).
- Develop new and update existing assembly procedures and processes on the production floor and monitor assemblers to ensure they are following the procedures for consistency in build.
- Undertake work studies.
- Make suggestions and incorporate changes to improve the workflow in the production cells.
- Evaluate manufacturability of engineering designs to ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices, quality standards and customer needs.
- Prepare and revise manufacturing documents, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM) used to manufacture foam cushions.
- Introduce and help maintain lean manufacturing / 5S principles.
Job Requirements
- Education Required - HNC/HND or Degree in engineering (mechanical, manufacturing, industrial) or related discipline. AutoCAD.
